The Rev. Jamison Brunk is a Home Missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church assigned to the Red Bird Missionary Conference. A clergy member of the East Ohio Conference, Jamie serves as pastor of the Booneville/Clifty/Warrens Chapel United Methodist Circuit, based in Booneville, KY.
As pastor of the three small churches in Eastern Kentucky “I deal especially with evangelism, church planting, and discipling,” Jamie explains. “I am particularly involved in youth work and community work. I am especially excited when the young men and women with which I work as a cross-country and track coach come to know Christ, become a part of our youth ministry and church, are baptized and then join the United Methodist Church as a disciple of Christ,” Jamie reflects. “This is particularly rewarding and humbling.”
Jamie adds that he also feels God moving through his ministry “when persons surrender their lives to Jesus Christ when I have served as an evangelist in a revival series.”
A native of Mansfield, OH, Jamie earned an AB degree in history from Otterbein College in Westerville, OH, and an MDiv degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. His prior pastorates include the Middle Fork/Stoney Fork Charge, both as pastor (1980-88 ) and interim pastor (1978-79), and the Combs/Lothair Charge as interim pastor (June-August, 1979).
Jamie is married to Susan Brunk, also a GBGM missionary, and they have two sons, Jonathan Matthew and Joseph Redmond. Jamie's parents are Joe and Eva Brunk of Mansfield, where they are members of Mansfield, Central United Methodist Church.
