The Rev. Charles Martindell is a United Methodist missionary currently appointed to the United Methodist Church in Homer, Alaska in the Alaska Missionary Conference.
Homer is located on the Kenai Peninsula on the southern coast of Alaska and has a population of slightly more than 5,000.
Charles Martindell was born in eastern Pennsylvania and is a clergy member of the West Ohio Annual Conference. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trenton State University, Ewing, New Jersey, and did his theological study at the Methodist Theological Seminary, Delaware, Ohio, receiving the Master of Divinity degree in 1984.
His interest in pastoral service in Alaska has long roots: "Almost 20 years ago, I was appointed to a church in Ohio from which a former pastor and friend had left to serve in Alaska. That planted a seed and from time to time for about 15 years I wondered if God might be calling me to the same thing. Finally, I decided the time had some and I, too, applied for service in this unique place." His appointment in Homer began in July 2008.
Charles is married to Karen Martindell. Their daughter Sarah once served as a US-2 missionary through Global Ministries.
