As camp manager, Angela’s focus is creating camping activities and retreats for youth and young adults in order to foster spiritual growth, and recruitment of church groups to serve on work-teams in the community. ”I believe God’s mission is being carried out through the growth I see in the kids from one summer to the next. I also believe that the families and work-teams are learning to look beyond the surface and see how Jesus is a the heart of all they do and receive.”
Angela explains that she sees God moving through her ministry ”all the time.” She recalls an experience when she was notified of a home that desperately needed a roof. The three work-teams that had been there that week had completed their projects early and were able to start and finish the needed roof. ”I witnessed God through the cooperation of everyone. We were all strangers yet everyone rallied for the benefit of that family.” She shares that the local pastor and his wife had been relating to the family as well and as a result the family began attending church.
