Made in L.A. is the story of three immigrant women who discover the power of their collective voice as they stand together in unity against exploitation by the garment manufacturer that employs them.

Born among the disenfranchised of eighteenth-century England, the movement that led to the organization of The United Methodist Church was spread across the world by immigrants and refugees.

Refugees have suffered grievous losses of homeland, family, friends, and community. Many find their adjustment to a new way of life smoothed by the friendship, care, and guidance provided by church sponsors or congregations ready to reach out to them in other ways.

Welcoming the stranger and offering refuge to those seeking asylum are important traditions that assure all God's people of God's steadfast love. Through the programs of Global Ministries, United Methodists offer compassion, hospitality, discernment, stewardship, advocacy against injustice, and communion to all sojourning persons.
