Four Areas of Focus
The Four Areas of Focus for 2009-2012 of The United Methodist Church are:
- Creating new places for new people and revitalizing existing congregations
- Developing principled Christian leaders for the church and the world
- Engaging in ministry with the poor
- Combating the diseases of poverty by improving health globally.
Different United Methodist general agencies will lead the denomination in each focus area. Though General Board of Global Ministries is the lead agency for ministry with those in poverty its work includes many programs and projects in each of the four areas.
