Carol Riley Ackley

Carol Riley Ackley grew up in Covington, Kentucky, graduated from Holmes High School, and received a BS Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Georgetown (KY) College. Her Master's Degree in Biology and Library Science and her Rank 1 in Education were from Xavier University. After teaching in the Public Schools for over 30 years, upon retirement, Carol worked as a part-time Instructor/Supervisor for Northern Kentucky University (NKU).
Carol is married to Carlyle, a Certified Public Accountant. They have twin sons, Dr. David Ackley, a Research Toxicologist, and Dr. Douglas Ackley, a Clinical Pharmacist. Carlyle and Carol are blessed with two wonderful daughter-in-laws and two grandchildren, Elijah and Caitlin. Carol has served in many positions in her home church, Florence First UMC in Kentucky, serves on the District Board of Ministry and the Wesley Foundation Board at Northern Kentucky University. Carol is the immediate past president of the Kentucky Conference of United Methodist Women. Last year, she served as a Laity Delegate to the General Conference and also to the Jurisdictional Conference. Carol is presently serving as the Kentucky Conference Lay Leader.
Hobbies include water aerobics, reading, crocheting, gardening, and making jewelry. One of her passions is teaching in the various Schools of Christian Mission.
