Wendy Whiteside
Leader for "Food and Faith"
Wendy Whiteside is a communicator with a BA in Theater and an MA in Communication. More importantly, she has a lot of experience communicating with others. Where her job was packing lightning rods or teaching about the root causes of hunger, Wendy has been sought out as a communicator.
Wendy spent 15 years as staff of the General Board of Global Ministries, the mission arm of The United Methodist Church. Most recently she oversaw print, web, multilingual, video, and audio communications for Global Ministries. Prior to that she spent 10 years with the United Methodist Committee on Relief where she was responsible for communication. She directed the hunger ministries programs, and coordinated many of the UMCOR projects receiving money from the Advance for Christ and His Church.
Wendy is a preacher’s kid from Missouri and has worked for the church in many different positions since college. She spent eight years as the Associate Director of the Office of Creative Ministries where she nurtured and strengthened ecumenical ties within the state of Missouri. Over her career, she hosted radio shows and written articles for print and web.
