Being in mission has been a part of Marcia’s life for many years. She recently joined the staff of Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City, Ohio as the director of New Path Ministries. In her previous position as executive for women and children with the General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM), she served international women, children and their organizations through networking, advocacy and education. From 2000-2004, Marcia served as the Executive Director of NOMADS, a national organization coordinated through Mission Volunteers of GBGM and previously as the United Methodist Volunteers In Mission (UMVIM) coordinator in West Ohio Conference. From 1987, she and her husband, Jim, have led over 20 UMVIM teams both nationally and internationally to Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Commissioned a Deaconess in 2001, she has led women’s retreats and seminars on Prayer, Personal Spiritual Growth through Mission and has facilitated numerous studies with conference and regional Schools of Christian Mission.

Marcia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton with post-graduate work in mission and theology from United Theological Seminary. Currently, she is working on a Ph.D in Intercultural Studies.

Originally from Ohio, Marcia and Jim have three grown children and three grandchildren. She enjoys reading, theater, Gospel music and quilting.
