Rev. Carol Lakota Eastin
Leader for "Native American Survival"
Rev. Carol Lakota Eastin is the founding pastor of the Native American Fellowship- Dayspring United Methodist Church, E. Peoria, Illinois.
Carol's heritage is Lakota, Yakima, French, Irish, and Algonquin by adoption. Her native name was given to her by the Yupik people. Her husband, Bill, is a United Methodist Pastor. They have one living son Luke, IS and another son in the spirit world. Her journey with grief and loss has had a profound impact on her life and ministry.
Carol received her BA in Music Education and Psychology from MacMurray College,
her M. Divinity and MA in Christian Education from the Methodist Theological School
in Ohio, and her MA in Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University. She has worked in local church, hospital, and clinical settings. She is a fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
Carol serves on: General Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns, executive and theological education committees of the World Methodist Council. She has served on the board NUMNAC, NAIC, Flying with Eagles, and the NCNCONAM. She is the Dean of the NCJ Native American Course of Study School. Carol was the founding director of Return to Pimiteoui Pow Wow, and is founding director of Seven Circles Heritage Center- an intercultural/interfaith center.
