Robert C. Walker

Robert C. Walker is the Executive Director at Wesley Community Center, an affiliated Robert C. WalkerUnited Methodist Social Service Agency, located in Dayton, Ohio. He has served in this position since October 1, 1973. Before coming to Dayton, he was employed as a neighborhood developer with Wesley Community Center, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia.

Robert is a graduate of Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. He has received a Master of Arts Degree in Urban Sociology from Scarritt College, Nashville, Tennessee, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Pastoral Supervision from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio. He serves as an adjunct faculty with United Theological Seminary’s Master of Divinity Contextual Education and Doctor of Ministry Programs.

He is a recognized leader in the Dayton Metropolitan Area, is well-known and respected among the pastors and laity in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, as well as other local denominations. He is also known for his work with the Jail Ministry, Community development initiatives, youth and sport (First Dayton Little League), Social Advocacy, and Dayton Inter Alumni Council of the United Negro College Fund and is a life member of the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). He is proud to serve with the Mary Scott Nursing Center Board of Trustees, Co-chair of the City of Dayton’s Youth Commission, City of Dayton’s Human Relations Council, Scarritt Bennett Center Board of Directors, and the American Friends Service Committee’s National Board of Directors and co-clerk of the Great Lakes Region Executive Committee.

Robert and Mary are natives of Marshall, Texas. Robert and Mary have three children, Monica L. Floyd (Shane), Roberta C. Eke (Uzo) and Robert C. Walker, Jr., and two grandchildren, Amari Floyd and Zoue Eke. They are members of the Dixon United Methodist Church. Robert is a Home Missionary in the United Methodist Church commissioned in October 1982.
