Leader for "Food and Faith"

Dr. Yocom currently serves as the Missiologist-in-Residence and Director of the Course of Study at Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri. She is also a part-time associate at Grace UMC in Olathe, Kansas.

For over a decade, Rena worked with the General Board of Global Ministries. She coordinated 2 Global Gatherings bringing together thousands of persons from around the world to celebrate the mission of the UMC. She is an experienced leader in the Schools of Christian Mission. She was the compiling editor and author of the study guide for New Wine for New Wineskins: Mission in the 21st Century. She is a member of the new Faith and Order Committee for the UMC.

Rena has her Doctor of Ministry degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary.
Her Master of Divinity degree was earned at Saint Paul School of Theology and she received its Outstanding Graduate award in 1994 for “honoring her practice of ministry as reflected in Luke 4:18-19, her prophetic witness and vision, her caring presence, and her commitment to inclusive evangelism.” She is a deacon in full connection in the Kansas East Conference.

She resides with her husband, Larry, in Edgerton, Kansas. They have two grown children (Ryan and Joy) and three grandchildren (Tanner, Gage and Lindsey).
