Josephine Chatakee Allen-Deere, lives in Norman, Oklahoma with her husband, Jerry and adopted son, Jacoby. Josephine is a full blood Muscogee Creek and was born and raised in the United Methodist church. Josephine attended school at Coweta Public schools, graduated from Chilocco Indian School, Newkirk, Oklahoma and Haskell All Nations University, Lawrence, Kansas.

Josephine is very active within the church and conference. She began serving the church in the MYF organization and continued on with the United Methodist Women. Josephine has served in the positions of District UMW President, Conference UMW Treasurer, and Conference UMW President. She completed her second quadrennium as a Women's Division Director in 2008 and served as the Recording Secretary from 2004-2008. Josephine is also a Director with the General Board of Global Ministries. From 2000 to 2006 she filled the pulpit at Fife Memorial as a Lay Missioner. Since December she has started filling the pulpit at another of our churches that is without a pastor.

Josephine is well known in the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference for her leadership not only in the United Methodist Women but also with our tribal hymn singing. Josephine is a mother of four children, twelve grandchildren and one great- grandson.
