According to their Giving Coordinator, “Food is one of the key weapons being used to subjugate the Palestinian people; heavily subsidized, imported food and food aid undermines Palestine’s farming economy and creates food dependence.” The project on Women’s Empowerment and Food Sovereignty offers a different path for low-income Palestinian rural women.
Stories of Peacemakers: Korea by Carol Van Gorp
09/13/2013 The world around us beats with not only the stories of tragic violence that seem to be daily escalating, but real Love; Love in-breaking a violent world directly from the heart of God. United Methodist Women are daily stepping up to the plate to be the Peacemakers we were created to be in such a warring, violent world. As the Nation sets its eyes towards more violence, let us remember and pray strongly and with grateful hearts for the Love that is real and tangible and through which we participate by being United Methodist women.

09/09/2013 I recently returned from my first ever Mission u with the California-Pacific Conference United Methodist Women. I’ve been to a number of Schools of Christian Missions since I was young, but this was my first school under the new name Mission u. This was the first one on the West Coast—all the others I had attended were on the East Coast. This was also the first one for which I was a study leader at instead of just a student. I got to see the other side of the classroom.
