Predictions
Day 39
—Mark 10:32-34
In Mark 10:32-34, Jesus predicted his betrayal, death and resurrection. We see Jesus’ mission. Although the disciples were both astonished and afraid, they chose to follow Jesus. Jesus led his disciples to an abundant and eternal life—where he leads all who desire to follow him as Savior and Lord.
Just as Jesus’ earthly ministry had a focus, United Methodist Women has a focus: mission. United Methodist Women members work to encourage forgiveness, restorative justice and reconciliation. And just as Jesus was focused on people, United Methodist Women members are focused on women, children and youth. As Jesus had followers, United Methodist Women has followers all over the world. As we reflect faith, hope and love in action with women, children and youth across the globe, the Holy Spirit works to make us good stewards and transform the lives we are blessed to serve.
Jesus walked before his flock. In giving his life on the cross, then rising from death, Jesus went where we could not go and did what we could not do so that we might receive what only he can give! Thanks and praise be to God!
Prayer
Dear God, thank you for your unconditional love. Thank you, Lord, for sending your son, Jesus the Christ, to save us. Grant us the grace to love each other as you love us. Amen.
