The Prayer Calendar is a tool of advocacy. Advocacy allows us to be agents of transformation by calling us to change the systems.
Diane Allen, retired Global Ministries' missionary in China brings our attention to recycling:
On a recent flight within the United States I was acutely aware that each individual dish of my meal was covered in plastic wrap. A few weeks earlier I had visited a rural village project high in China's Yunan mountains where every scrap of vegetable and animal waste was collected into an underground container. When composted the methane gas was piped into every village home for cooking and lighting and the super rich compost revived tired soil. As I ate the airline's chicken meal I reflected on just who had the better idea of what "developed" should be.

Take a moment and reflect:
- This Earth Day what is one change you would like to make in your home and church?
- How are you living out and challenging others to live out Psalm 24:1: "The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it."
