Apply for the College Women's Seminar on Women and Migration

The United Methodist Seminar Program is seeking applications from U.S. college and university women for a week long seminar Jan. 3-9, 2011 to be held in New York City. The seminar will bring together seven U.S. college women and 14 women from Japan and Korea to focus on global migration and its impact on women.

During the seminar participants will engage in biblical reflection, meet with international nongovernmental organizations and grass-roots organizers, tour the United Nations and expand leadership skills.

Participants are expected to raise $500.00 per person for this event. This will help cover travel and housing costs. This money can be raised through each participant’s community of support, including church, friends and relatives, and organizations in which the participant is involved.

Additional expenses beyond the $500.00 are graciously underwritten by the Wesley Center, Scranton Center for Women’s Leadership, and Women’s Division.

The application deadline is November 15, 2010. Please encourage the women in your networks to apply!
