Monitoring News Coverage of Religion in Mainstream News Media
September 12–14, 2011
As United Methodist Women members, we have taken part in monitoring gender and peace. This year, we are inviting you to monitor how mainstream media cover religion. This effort to monitor religion includes how mainstream media cover:
- Religion in general
- Conflicts in particular
- Attributions made to the religion of the actors in conflicts
United Methodist Women members, college students, and church members in the United States and Canada are invited to monitor mainstream media such as newspaper, radio and television on September 12, 13 and 14 of this year.
The World Association of Christian Communication (WACC) will be the analyzing the results. The results will help United Methodist Women members work to create interfaith communities.
You are invited to monitor newspapers, radio or television.
Thank you for your continued efforts in monitoring media.
