Russia is part of the vast Northern Europe and Eurasia Central Conference, encompassing the countries of Ukraine, Moldova and the four Central Asia countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. United Methodist Women in this region are a vital strength to the church. They are the hands and heart of mission and a voice for the voiceless in every community where there is a United Methodist Church. Meetings are times to share in spiritual growth, meeting the needs of their communities and planning for mission outreach. The link connecting the diverse membership of women from this region can be summed up in the personal witness of a local United Methodist Women leader: “It is not my tolerating others. It is about others tolerating me.”
This community of women is concerned about the issues impacting their sisterhood. All of the women gain strength from the stories of women in the scriptures and the signs they see in one another that mirror those stories in life today. Join United Methodist Women in Russia to affirm the vital role of women in the United Methodist Church today and to engage in mission work together.
