Marilyn Clement

Marilyn Clement, a former Women’s Division staff person, tireless activist and founder of Healthcare NOW!--a group which advocates for single-payer universal health care--passed away Monday, August 3, 2009, after a long fight with multiple myeloma. She was 74.

She joined the Economic Justice office of the Women’s Division in 1999 where she united Methodist women in the United States with Methodists in Burma. She worked with Methodist women to act on their commitment to social justice, especially health care.
