Schools of Christian Mission
Schools of Christian Mission are opportunities to study current issues impacting society based on recent mission study topics. Each School offers classes on a topic covering three themes:
- Spiritual Growth
- Geographic
- Social Issue
How Can I Participate?
Whether a United Methodist Women member or not, you are invited to attend conference Schools of Christian Mission.
While many of the events for 2011 are now over, several will be held in the Fall. For information and to participate, use contact information provided on the 2011 Conference Schools of Christian Mission Google map, or visit your conference's website.
What Should I Expect?
At Schools of Christian Mission, you grow in understanding of the mission of the church in the current world context. The studies give particular attention to the responsibilities of women in the fulfillment of the mission work of the church.
Schools of Christian Mission also include:

- Fellowship events

Where do Schools take Place?
Schools of Christian Mission take place across every United Methodist conference and organized by conference United Methodist Women leadership.
Regional Schools
Five Regional Schools of Christian Mission are held each year in June. They provide the training for leaders at conference Schools of Christian Mission.
Those required to attend Regional Schools are:
- Conference leadership of United Methodist Women
- Jurisdiction leadership of United Methodist Women
- Teachers of Conference Schools of Christian Mission
- Administrators of Conference Schools of Christian Mission
History
Schools of Christian Mission began in the mid-1930s by the Woman’s Home Missionary Society. Every year more than 20,000 people participate in the Schools of Christian Mission.
