March 2009 Response

The March 2009 issue of Response, the magazine of United Methodist Women, puts "Food & Faith" front and center. The "Hunger for Justice" issue is a great supplement to the Food & Faith spiritual growth mission study, taking a deeper look at how food is rooted in issues of faith, communities, and the world.

Food Justice Posters

Artist Favianna Rodriguez recently collaborated with Bryant Terry, author of the "Vegan Soul Kitchen," on a set of posters dealing with food justice. There are three themes in the set of posters: Urban Gardening in Urban Communities, men of color learning to cook, and Urban Deserts-urban areas with no access to healthy food.

March/April 2009 Mother Jones

The Mother Jones issue, "Let's Grow America," is a great resource of current food issues. Covering a wide range of topics on food, articles discuss renowned foodie Michael Pollan, biofuels and its effects on rainforests, and food beyond local and organic.
