Assembly Scholarships
We are offering scholarships to women who would like to attend Assembly 2010 but cannot afford to go. We are asking Conference leaders to recommend scholarship candidates who fall into the following qualifications:
- Is a young woman
- Is a new or emerging leader within her United Methodist Women unit, district or conference
- Is a first-time Assembly attendee
Because Assembly costs more than just the registration fee, we are offering two types of scholarships, based on need and/or request:
- for airfare only
- for airfare + housing for 3 nights
The scholarships can be used toward:
- Registration fees
- Transportation to the event
- Lodging
- Meals
Recommendations from the conference United Methodist Women leadership are required for scholarship acceptance. Click here to recommend someone for an Assembly scholarship!
Deadline for submitting a recommendation is December 1, 2009. Awardees will be announced January 15, 2010.
We are also taking donations for the Assembly Scholarship Fund to help women go to Assembly who otherwise wouldn't be able to attend. Learn more and donate here.
