Focus Groups Reports
On Friday, May 5th and Saturday, May 6th, 2006, Assembly participants participated in focus groups on a variety of topics. The groups began with lunch at 12:15 pm and continued until 3 pm.
The Rev. Denise Honeycutt offered concrete ways to get children involved in mission in local churches during a focus group at the United Methodist Women's Assembly, May 6, 2006, in Anaheim, Calif.
Assembly focus group leader Marie Clarke Brill delved into the issue of natural resources in Africa - particularly oil and diamonds.
Irma Montoya is working to transform the economic engines of El Paso through women's leadership training. Speaking through an interpreter, she addressed Assembly-goers during a focus group, "Land of Opportunity: Who Belongs Here?"
The focus group, "Outsourcing: Globalization and the Impact of Labor," led by the Rev. David M. Schilling, director of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, put a spotlight on how outsourcing has impacted the global economy and workers' rights around the world.
