How do I register?

Registration is taking place entirely online. Click here to go directly to the Assembly registration page, also located on the "Registration and Rates" page of this website. 

What if I'm having trouble registering? 

You can email your question to assembly2010@gbgm-umc.org, call 800-805-3976 for assistance, or contact your Conference Assembly Liaison or Conference President. 

Can I register for Assembly through the mail? 

While we encourage registering online, we are offering paper mail-in forms. Contact your Conference Assembly Liaison for a registration form and information packet.

How and when do I register for workshops?

Workshops will be offered throughout the day on Friday and Saturday during Assembly. Some workshops will require pre-registration and some will be open to walk in. This website will be updated with workshops that require pre-registration around August 30, 2009.

If you have registered prior to that date, please log into your registration account to select them. If you haven't yet registered, the registration form will be updated with the workshops to select. 

How do I register without using a credit card?

When you fill out your online registration form, you can select "pay later via check" and then send a check or money order payable to the Women's Division, General Board of Global Ministries, P.O. Box 632420, Baltimore, MD 21263-2420. 

Can I come for one day?

Day registration will be available on-site at the America's Center if the seating capacity is not met. Fees are $125 for Friday and Saturday, and $25 for Sunday. 

How much does Assembly cost?

Rates can be viewed here. Registration rates are broken into two segments: Early Online Registration and Regular Online Registration. Early Online Registration is $215 June 1, 2009 to November 30, 2009 (Midnight PST). Regular Online Registration is $250 beginning December 1, 2009.

Where can I eat in St. Louis?

What is the Assembly 2010 theme?

The Assembly theme is "Faith · Hope · Love in Action." Read more about the theme and its components here. 

If I can no longer attend, what should I do?

We always encourage a transfer of registration. If you know someone who wants to attend Assembly but has not yet registered, they can pay you directly and assume your registration.

Your confirmation email includes instructions on how to log back into your registration record. Once there, you need to change all the contact information to the new person and click the “Update” button. You can contact your Conference President or Conference Assembly Liaison for assistance in finding a replacement.

To facilitate a cancellation please send your request in writing to Assembly2010@gbgm-umc.org. Please include the name, address, email and phone number of the person who is being canceled. Fixed costs mandate a $50 cancellation fee and allow for no refunds after April 10, 2010.

Is wireless internet access available?

Complimentary wireless internet access is available in all public lobbies of the America's Center. 

What is the weather like in St. Louis?

 During late April and early May, St. Louis should be mildly warm. Weatherbase says average April and May temperatures are high 50s and low 60s in degrees Fahrenheit. 

What is a house party?

A House Party for Assembly 2010 is an event for gathering friends, circles, or anyone interested to learn more about Assembly 2010 in St. Louis. House Parties will be taking place nationwide October 20, 2009 and February 23, 2010. 

Is it okay to bring my husband?

Yes, anyone is welcome to attend Assembly 2010. 

Why did I not get an Assembly Packet?

In an effort to reduce our impact on the environment, be better stewards of mission money and streamline the Assembly registration process, we are not printing Assembly packets. All information will be processed electronically online including print resources, registration, event confirmation and updates. 

Where is Assembly 2010 located?

Assembly 2010 will be located in St. Louis, Missouri at the America's Center. Read more about Assembly's location here.

How do I get to Assembly 2010 from the airport?

There are many shuttle, cab, and metro services that can transport you from the airport to your hotel or the America's Center. Click our "Getting There" page to learn more about transportation in St. Louis and shuttle coupons to Assembly Attendees. 

What time does Assembly 2010 begin? 

Assembly begins officially on Friday, April 30, 2010. At 7AM the Experience Hall will open; however, worship will not begin until 7PM. Click here for a more detailed tentative Assembly schedule. 

Where can I stay while attending Assembly?

There are many hotels in the downtown St. Louis area in walking distance to America's Center. Click the "Hotel Info" page to learn about preferred hotels and rates for Assembly attendees. 

If there is an emergency at home, how can my family/friends contact me?

The emergency phone number for the America's Center is 314-342-5081. It connects you to the security command post, which is staffed 24 hours a day. 

Is there transportation between the hotel and convention center?

Shuttle bus service will be provided by many preferred hotels to the America's Center, which are listed with an asterisk on the Hotel Info page. 

Are there opportunities to volunteer at Assembly?

Is child care available?

Yes. Child care is offered for children between the ages of 2-12 for a daily $15 fee. Click here to learn more. 

What does Assembly 2010 offer people with disabilities?

Wheelchairs will be available for anyone who needs it for $10 a day. Click here for more information. 

What is a Conference Assembly Liaison?

A Conference Assembly Liaison is a Conference-appointed United Methodist Women member who serves as the Conference's point person for Assembly 2010-related inquiries. She provides assistance in online registration, serves as the main contact to the Assembly Business Office, and works with other Conference officers to promote online registration opportunities at key events.
