Congregational Health Ministries Conference

The 4th Annual Congregational Health Ministries Conference, Connecting Health Ministries of Congregations, Conferences and Communities around the World will be held at Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center, North Carolina on September 21-24, 2008. Awareness Days

The following days provide a way to regularly recognize and create awareness about particular health issues. Use this as a guide for informing your church and community about these important issues.

Disability Awareness Sunday
Observed annually on a date determined by the Annual Conference, the event celebrates the gifts and graces of persons with disabilities and calls for the Church and society to full inclusion of persons with disabilities in the community. An offering may be received to promote the work of creating architectural and attitudinal accessibility in local churches.

World Health Day
April 7 every year

Africa Malaria Day
Observed on April 25 this day brings awareness to the approximately 1 million people who perish from this preventable illness each year. Download and share this year's Africa Malaria Day Insert.

Mental Illness Awareness Week
