When there is a need to establish a long-term presence overseas, UMCOR does that through its non-governmental organization (NGO). UMCOR NGO sets up field offices within countries to provide local assistance and support in the wake of natural disasters and civil emergencies.

UMCOR’s NGO unit provides humanitarian relief and transitional development and relief assistance internationally by working collaboratively with local communities to assist them in restoring social stability, revitalizing community structures, and empowering their members to retake control of their lives.
