Hurricanes 2005, Katrina, UMCOR Advance #982523
Hurricane Katrina roared ashore in Louisiana August 29, 2005. This single storm devastated cities and towns across the Gulf States.
UMCOR began its Katrina response before the storm arrived, pre-positioning relief supplies and readying annual conference disaster response coordinators. UMCOR plans to continue its work through the affected annual conferences for many years to come, supplying direct assistance, coordinating volunteers, connecting people to the support they need, and helping survivors go about the work of recovery.
We're 100% efficient. Every dollar you give to this emergency will provide humanitarian relief and recovery only for this emergency. That's because gifts to the One Great Hour of Sharing offering covers UMCOR's costs to administer your gifts.
