UMCOR’s NGO Unit Launches New Website

NEW YORK, Feb. 15, 2007-The United Methodist Committee on Relief's Non-Governmental Organization (UMCOR NGO) today launched a new website.  This site, still accessible from, includes an updated look, improved graphics and readability as well as ways to give to the NGO's programs online.  "This new site communicates both the depth and breadth of the NGO's work through our 11 overseas field offices," says UMCOR NGO Executive Director, Marc S. Maxi.

The new site features the NGO's 12 program areas such as reconstruction, income generation, and emergency response and intervention, the specific location and work of each field office, and how others can be involved in their work through giving, volunteering and working for the organization in the US and overseas.

UMCOR's NGO unit was formed in 1993 as a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that provides transitional development and relief assistance to communities in need around the world. Currently, there are 11 field offices established in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Europe that use integrated programs help communities ravaged by natural and human made disasters develop their means, opportunities, and inherent capacities to overcome challenges.
