SOLOMON ISLANDS: TSUNAMI RESPONSE

UMCOR partner Action by Churches Together continues to assess the situation in the Solomon Islands to determine the best way to provide immediate and long-term relief for the thousands left homeless by this disaster. The remote locations of the areas most in need pose serious challenges in responding to the disaster. UMCOR will provide assistance to any relief effort provided by our partners through ACT.

When you give to International Disaster Response, UMCOR Advance #982450, you help UMCOR to be at the ready to respond to this and other disasters worldwide.Online Giving

MOZAMBIQUE: FOOD AFTER THE FLOODS

UMCOR helped support an emergency food distribution and other relief efforts in Mozambique that gave needed assistance to thousands left homeless after a late February cyclone and flooding rains. "Thanks for food, for your heart of comfort and compassion as you share your resources with us," the Rev. Ana Maria Francisco, district superintendent said to a United Methodist New Service reporter.

AFRICA MALARIA DAY: HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

April 25 is Africa Malaria Day. It's a day to remember the approximately 1 million people who are killed by this preventable disease each year. It's also a day to take action to put an end to malaria. United Methodists are doing much to stem the tide. You can be involved through the Make Malaria History campaign which offers a variety of ways to be a part pf this effort to eradicate malaria through education, community training, testing, medication, and mosquito nets. Learn more through UMCOR's latest bulletin insert, Make Malaria History.

You can give directly to United Methodist efforts to combat malaria through UMCOR Advance #982009, Community-Based Malaria Program. Online Giving
