Provide a girl in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with tuition, uniform and school supplies for one year. Through UMCOR's Girl's Scholarship Program 2,500 orphaned or disadvantaged girls in five villages and towns in the southern highlands of Congo are able to attend school. UMCOR also supports the girls through a mentoring program through which the girls are encouraged in their studies and plans for the future. The success of the program is evident in the numbers; 91 percent of the girls successfully passed their examinations to the next class.
