A massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake rumbled through northeast Japan on Friday, March 11, causing many injuries and fires.

A 33-foot tsunami wave covered parts of the country's coastline just off of Honshu, Japan’s most populous island. On record, the earthquake is the strongest to hit Japan in the 140 years.
