Panravee Vongjaroenrat

Director of Immigration and Refugee Ministries, United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)
Ms. Vongjaroenrat oversees the Immigration and Refugee Ministries program. A key component of this program is Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON), which is a network of church-based, volunteer-led immigration law clinics. JFON provides free, professional legal services to immigrants in monthly clinics. Currently, the JFON network consists of 21 local clinics in eight states and Washington, DC. The network is served by seven full-time attorneys and several legal assistants as well as supported by hundreds of volunteers.
Prior to joining JFON, Panravee had worked as an immigration attorney in private law firms for six years. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. An immigrant herself, Panravee came to the United States in 1983 as a Fulbright scholar to complete an MA English literature at the University of Virginia.
