Ms. Kim seeks to encourage every United Methodist to use "UMCOR as the platform for involvement and resources to end hunger and poverty."
She is sought as an expert in her field, featured in ABC's 2004 television documentary "Hunger No More: Faces Behind the Facts" and invited to be part of hunger-related events worldwide. "Working with UMCOR," reflects Ms. Kim, "I realize how our everyday action and lifestyle impacts someone else in our global community."
The Sustainable Agriculture and Development programs she oversees in Africa increase the ability of subsistence farmers to not only provide better for their own families, but also to increase their income, introduce new and more nutritious produce to the market, and equips the farmers to go and teach others what they learn through UMCOR's training programs.
Educated at the State University of New York at Binghamton, Ms. Kim works to network the variety of boards she sits on with the organizations and individuals she encounters during her extensive travels to combat the root causes of hunger and poverty in the US and abroad.
