Clean Water and Sanitation
Ghana Water Project
The Ghana Water Project works in rural areas of Ghana that are disproportionately affected by water-borne illnesses. Increasing access to water not only improves the overall health of a community but also improves the quality of life for the women and girls who traditionally trek long distances to bring water to their families. The task of collecting water often takes precedence over attending school for many girls.
This project provides water through a range of means: water filters, boreholes, and water tanks. The water system provided depends on the needs of the community members and their capacity to sustain the new water source.
One ceramic water filter can supply a family with clean water for up to three years for just $25. You can help bring clean water to Ghana by giving to Ghana Water Project, Advance #3020588.
