Rev. Debra Tyree
Business Manger, Global Praise at the General Board of Global Ministries
The Rev. Debra Tyree (Debi) has been actively involved in church music all of her life. She is an ordained Deacon in Full Connection in The United Methodist Church. Her previous ministry settings include serving as Associate Minister of Music and Worship Arts Ministries at Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Mechanicsville, VA, where she directed a program of twelve choirs from kindergarten to seniors as a well as a multi-faceted worship arts ministry. Rev. Tyree accepted an appointment to the United Methodist Publishing House in 1999 as Music Resources Development Editor. Her work there included serving as managing editor of the magazine Church Music Workshop, editing a series of music leadership books, and editing a variety of music resources including anthems, musicals, and songbooks.
Her current secondary appointment is as Minister of Music at Bellevue United Methodist Church, Nashville, TN where she oversees the worship and music ministry of the church. Debi is nationally known as a workshop and choral clinician who engages participants in creative ways to discover how they can improve their ministry of church music. She was a part of the Global Praise team that traveled to the East Africa Conference in May 2007 to share in a learning/teaching course in church music and worship. Debi blends her gifts in local church music, sacred music publishing, and multicultural worship in her current appointment as Business Manger, Global Praise at the General Board of Global Ministries.
Jorge Lockward
Global Praise Program Director
A native of the Dominican Republic, Jorge A. Lockward serves as Global Praise Program Coordinator since January, 2000. Jorge was a committee member of the Spanish Language United Methodist Hymnal, Mil Voces para Celebrar and has served as consultant on Global Music for several denominational hymnals. He is the editor of Tenemos Esperanza a trilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, English) songbook and recording of congregational song from Latin America published in 2003 by GBGMusik. He is also the co-founder and conductor-in-residence of Cántico Nuevo (New Song), a worship-and-arts ecumenical project in New York City.

Catherine Scott
General Board of Global Ministries Copyright Manager
Catherine Scott was born in New Brunswick, Canada and has worked for the General Board of Global Ministries for 14 years. In her previous position as Assistant Recording Secretary, she had the opportunity to travel through countries in Africa and Asia. For the last 5 years whe has held the post of Copyright Manager for the General Board of Global Ministries. In this capacity, she prepares licenses and secures copyright permissions for the use of copyrighted material in Global Praise publications, mission study and other books, and registers publications with the US Copyright Office. She corresponds and interacts with composers and publishers from around the world. Catherine is a member of the Congregation St. Saviour at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York City where she has been a Team Captain of the Soup Kitchen Ministry and is presently the Chairperson of the Cathedral Altar Guild.
