The Native American Comprehensive Plan invites Native American Women of the United Methodist Church , both clergy and laity, to attend a gathering devoted to healing, nurturing and wholeness.
As Jesus Christ went to the mountains for strength and renewal, you are invited to come to the mountains of Albuquerque to find your own healing, nurturing and wholeness.
The Native American Women in Ministry Conference will:
- Bring together Native women, both laity and clergy, from across the five U.S. jurisdictions for communication, connecting and coordination.
- Provide outstanding leadership from Native American women facilitators and speakers.
- Offer workshops related to healing, nurturing, wholeness and holiness.
- Offer a women's Bible study
- Initiate the development of a network of United Methodist Native American lay and clergy women
- Provide an opportunity for the Native American Clergy Women's Association (NACA) to hold its annual meeting with election of officers.
Registration Fee is $100 which provides:
- all meals from Thursday evening banquet through Sunday lunch
- airport shuttle for those who are flying
- all workshop supplies and materials

Who should attend this conference:
- Native American UM women of all ages
- Native lay women actively engaged in ministry within the UMC at all levels: local church, district, annual conference, jurisdiction and general church.
- Native clergy women (local pastors, elders, deacons, active or retired) serving Native American churches and in cross-cultural appointments,
- Young adult Native women ages 18 to 35 years will have their registration fee waived.
Special Features of the Native American Women in Ministry Conference:
- Keynote Speaker and Bible Study Leader, Rev. Carol Gallagher (Cherokee), the only Native American woman to serve as Bishop within a mainline denomination
- Workshops to address the hearts and minds of Native women such as healing with herbal teas, quilting as good medicine, music-making for non-musicians, and crafting for fun and wholeness
- Outstanding music with old time Gospel, contemporary and inspirational songs
- Opportunities to share the joys and challenges of the ministries to which Creator God has called us
- Cokesbury Book Fair
- Native American Arts and Crafts Fair
- Opportunity to visit Pueblo Cultural Center and Albuquerque's Old Town
Average weather for September in Albuquerque is high temperature of 80 and a low at night of 60 degrees. Dress is casual and comfortable. Bring a Bible, walking shoes, swim suit and exercise clothes (if you want to use the indoor pool and work out room).
