National Lay Speaking School for United Methodist Native Americans
The Native American Comprehensive Plan leadership development committee encourages Native American individuals to become local church lay speakers, certified lay speakers and to maintain certified lay speaker status.
The plan will hold the National Lay Speaking School for United Methodist Native Americans; it is open to all youth, young adults, and adults who qualify per ¶¶ 268 & 269 of The Book of Discipline of United Methodist Church, 2004.
The Native American Lay Speaking School will:
- Be led by Native American United Methodist workshop leaders.
- Teach ways to incorporating contemporary and Native American styles of worship.
- Address issues facing Native American United Methodist churches.
- Address needs of many Native American small membership churches.
