The purpose of the United Methodist Council on Korean American Ministries is to strengthen Korean American Ministries within and outside the church by administering funds to develop and support projects directed towards:
1. Congregational Development - New Church Start
2. Leadership Development
3. Next Generation Ministries
4. Ministry Resource Development
The Korean American National Plan was established by the United Methodist General Conference of 2000 for the purpose of strengthening Korean ministries within and outside the church.
This plan for "Advancing United Methodist Ministries with Korean Americans" addressed specific ministry needs and concern with Korean Americans in the United States. It was the first comprehensive mission initiative of The United Methodist Church that sought to develop and vitalize Korean American ministries in North America.
