The ideas and images of the people of India and Pakistan have their own reality. Westerners view the Indian subcontinent as a changing kaleidoscope: Anglo-Saxon literary India; the India of German Romanticism; Portuguese, Mughal, British, American Transcendentalists' India; postcolonial India/Pakistan; the India of the hippies and information technology; and the Pakistan of the Global War Against Terrorism, to name a few. But no one emphasis can give a complete picture.

Our study explores links between the United Methodist Church in the United States and the Methodist Church in India and the United Church of Pakistan. It celebrates the mutuality of mission and is an invitation to walk in solidarity with the churches in India and Pakistan, minority churches in a majority culture.
