<item><title>Ron Davidson, Hondurus</title><link>http://new.gbgm-umc.org/missionaries/who/voice/?i=28412</link><description>Ronald Davidson
&amp;quot;Money doesn&apos;t buy happiness,&amp;quot; says missionary Ronald Davidson, coordinator of United Methodist Volunteers in Mission program in Honduras. This is one of the lessons Mr. Davidson has learned since his first trip to Honduras in 1999 as a member of an UMVIM team.
What does it mean to hear God&apos;s call? For Mr. Davidson, it was &amp;quot;An overwhelming sense of God&apos;s presence,&amp;quot; as he sang the words, &amp;quot;Here I Am, Lord.&amp;quot;
Listen in as Mr. Davidson shares his challenges and laughter. Like Mr. Davidson, volunteers in Honduras have learned about poverty, happiness, and love of neighbor as they joined medical and construction volunteer teams. The most memorable times for volunteers are the times spent playing with kids, jumpingrope, and kicking soccer balls.
Interview by Mary Beth Coudal, Global Ministries staff writer.

Listen to one--missionary Jamie Michaels shares surprising stories, such as the time a multiracial group of young people from South Carolina addressed Congressman James Clyburn&apos;s staff on Capitol Hill on the issue of environmental justice. &quot;They [the young people] were really concerned about the level of pollutants in the rivers in their neighborhoods.&quot; Ms. Michaels talks about how the Seminar Program addresses the issues of personal transformation, the environment, poverty, gentrification, homelessness, racism, classism, privilege, and immigration.The Seminar Program impresses, empowers, and moves people. It offers a chance to reflect, study, experience, and advocate as young people gather for several days in New York or Washington DC to find out what it means to live their faith. The Seminar Program is a joint program of the Women&apos;s Division of the General Board of Global Ministries and the General Board of Church and Society.
