Repairing and rebuilding churches, schools, parsonages and clinics in the aftermath of the civil war
Background / History
Liberia has many buildings still destroyed and in need of repair because of civil war. The need is great throughout the country. Churches, parsonages, schools, and health clinics need to be built or repaired. IGRC has already built five churches, over $300,000 has been donated to Ganta Hospital and we have built two clinics and two schools in Liberia. We have only begun our work in Liberia.
Goals & Objectives
1. Provide adequate schools for children and youth to attend United Methodist related schools. 2. Provide sanctuaries appropriate for worship throughout Liberia. 3. Help construct health clinics throughout Liberia to provide medical care to all areas of the country. 4. Provide adequate housing for clergy in Liberia.
1. Projects are being identified by the cabinet of The Liberia Annual Conference and Bishop Innis. 2. Churches and districts in IGRC receive lists of projects that need financial assistance. 3. Volunteer teams from IGRC travel to Liberia a minimum of twice a year to work on building projects.
1. IGRC will receive reports of finished projects.
