Background / History

Before the project got started, there were a number of orphans in the community and the surrounding towns and villages who lost their parents during the war. The orphans were brought to the orphanage when construction work was completed with funds provided by Peninsula Delaware Conference.

Mission

1. To improve and repair the orphanage facilities.
2. Build additional dormitories and classrooms to accommodate more orphans.
3. To train the orphans in their field of interest to support themselves after finishing school.

1. Have the orphanage program on the required standard.
2. Purchase equipment and materials for the home and school.

Project Outcomes

1. To improve and repair the orphanage facilities that are damaged.
2. Appoint a qualified person to direct the orphanage program and bring it back to what it once was when the program started.

Project Indicators

1. When the program is back in good shape and standard.
2. The unusable dormitories are improved and refurbished.
3. The land upon which the orphanage is situated is good for growing vegetables.
4. Increase the educational facilities that will benefit both the orphans and the neighboring communities.
