Advance # 14398A
Offering safety, family warmth, companionship, education and a Christian environment
Background / History
Because of war that hit DRC, there were displaced people. Children were abandoned and Kamina became the host town for these children. The church started taking care of all the abandoned children, grouping them together, feeding them, and offering them shelter.
Mission
The purpose of this project is to take care of abandoned children, give them warm care and make them feel at home, by offering them a family environment and giving them access to education. Put them together and make them feel that they are at home, under one parent and groomed in the Christian environment.
Goals & Objectives
To groom children in Christian settings. To give them access to education. To provide good care for the children without parents.
Activities Plan
Provide school kits for children at the beginning of the school year. Provide those children with a stable daily diet, which consists of three meals a day. Train the children on holy life.
Project Outcomes
At the beginning, the center received orphans who were very small babies. Some already attend primary school. By offering them education, a healthy environment, and maintaining order and discipline for both boys and girls, we intend to form those orphaned children to become educated and responsible adults.
Project Indicators
1. Children have time to read schoolwork by themselves according to the schedule.
2. Children perform well at schools.
3. Boys and girls are building their capabilities by being taught in church leadership in Kamina-ville.
