Disaster Response
Advance gifts that fund emergency and disaster relief projects are managed by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). When hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, or famines strike, Advance gifts help fund the relief efforts that save the lives in desperate situations. The Advance is always on call so that in the case of an emergency, UMCOR will have immediate access to a channel of giving. This allows United Methodist congregations and individuals to respond quickly from anywhere in the world to play a vital role in the relief effort through their gifts to these emergency Advance accounts.
