September 19, 2008. When I was in medical school in Brazil in the year 2000, I had this dream-to be a medical doctor in Africa. I had heard about Chicuque Rural Hospital in southeastern Mozambique, a Portuguese-speaking country just like my home country of Brazil, and a desire grew in me to go and serve there in medical ministry.
Following the weekend landfall of Hurricane Ike in Galveston, Tex., assessments are beginning to uncover the extent of the damage in Galveston and along the Gulf Coast.
