Disaster Response
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the humanitarian relief and development agency of The United Methodist Church, a worldwide denomination. Compelled by Christ, UMCOR responds to natural and human-made disasters: interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on its own. Through The Advance, 100 percent of designated gifts reach UMCOR's relief and recovery projects around the world.
Each disaster is unique and calls for a particular response. Money allows the United UMCOR to respond in the most effective, timely manner. You can support UMCOR's emergency response efforts and by giving to The Advance related to a particular emergency or by giving to the following general funds to ensure that resources are on hand when needed.
