Responsibilities of Primetimers Hosts
- Enter into partnership with the General Board of Global Ministries with the goal of providing exposure, learning, and service opportunities for older adults
- Select the theme for the Primetimers event, relating it to the work of the UMC and/or the church universal
- Establish the schedule for event, including a mix of seminars, field trips, mission service, devotions and reflection time
- Submit a budget for the event and determine the participant event fee
- Secure quality speakers and prepare fieldtrips
- Arrange mission service opportunities and prepare any necessary supplies
- Arrange all logistics, including housing, local transportation, and food
- Promote the Primetimers event within your networks
- Communicate with participants before the event (including a letter of welcome with packing list, sample schedule, transportation information, etc.)
- Collect event fees from participants. (Deposits are collected by the Primetimers office and sent to the Host Site. Remaining fees are collected directly by the Host Site. For host sites outside of the United States, this is negotiable.)
- Facilitate the Primetimers event
- Work with the Shepherd to understand his or her role in providing accompaniment to the event
- Provide evaluation on specific event and Primetimers program in general
