MAKING MUSIC - JAMAICAN STYLE
Methodist Church of the Caribbean and the Americas
Browns Town, Jamaica
January 8 - 15, 2011
Celebration and Dancing Will Occur !

A musical tour of Jamaica with voices and instruments is awaiting Primetimers who participate in this Event early in 2011. It will be a festive week sponsored by the Methodist Church of the Caribbean and the Americas (MCCA) during their Harvest Festival season.
From 10 to 25 persons will be in concert ten times during this week supported by a professional band. Jamaican singers and players will also join the group and no cultural boundaries can exist when God’s love is celebrated with music.
The concerts will be in churches and schools of the Browns Town and Stewart Town circuits of the MCCA in northern Jamaica. These will be in both rural and town churches, pre-schools, primary schools, high schools and a school for deaf students.
Music will be selected and mailed to participants prior to the event. It must be MEMORIZED! The ability to read music and to sing “in tune” are helpful - the ability to enjoy a crosscultural musical celebration of singing with gospel music and dancing is required.
A time away from rehearsals and concerts will be provided at the beach in Ocho Rios so swimsuit and sun screen are appropriate. Also a reminder that a passport is required for entry into Jamaica.

This event is made possible through WORLD BEAT CONNECTION - an Advance Special of the Minnesota Annual Conference. Their mission is the promotion of cross-cultural awareness, bridge building, interfaith dialogue and peacemaking through musical tours. It is led by members of the Jumpin’ Jeosafats Dixieland Band and SHOUT - a Gospel/Jazz band.
A unique experience surely awaits those who decide to get their voices in tune and their bodies in dancing condition and take advantage of this new Primetimers offering led by Lyndy Zabel of Minnesota.
When the joy of God’s love is shared through music - as this will be - that love is magnified and multiplied without limit.
