A diverse group of Individual Volunteers completed training/ orientation recently at Wesley Woods Retreat Center in Dowling, Michigan.
They range in age from 20 to 65, and include a city manager, high school chemistry teacher, United Methodist pastor, college student of agriculture, church youth director, surgeon, business executives, and physical and occupational therapists.
Their destinations are just as varied: Tanzania, Honduras, Macedonia, Nigeria, Mexico, Liberia and United States are among the placements chosen, with others still deciding.
Staff from Global Ministries led the two-day session and welcomed these newest of volunteers to the approximately 85 who are presently serving.
