Priority Needs for Individual Volunteers

BOLIVIA

Colegio Rio Colorado, located in Beni, Amazon basin:

a.Experienced teacher needed. Volunteer will teach English to Spanishspeaking students in grades 6 to 12. If capable, volunteer will alsoteach computer classes (basic MS Office) in Spanish. Spanish speakingability is a plus, but not required. Must possess current or previousteaching certificate. Needed mid to late January, 2008 for one to twoyears. Lodging and meals provided. b.Experienced veterinarian needed. Volunteer will assist localveterinarian with normal day to day duties as associated with farm typeanimals – chickens, cows (Brahmas), ducks, pigs, sheep, and guineapigs. Will consult and provide advice on pastures, fencing, care, andhousing of animals. Volunteer will also provide assistance withdevelopment of junior college level courseware. Degree associated withveterinary work required. Needed mid to late January, 2008 for one totwo years. Lodging and meals provided. (posted November 2007)

CHILE

Collegio Robert Johnson, Alto Hospicio (near Iquique) - volunteers needed to work in classrooms to assist in teaching/speaking English language.

CENTRAL ASIA

Teachers for the children of missionaries. Six needed for the 2005-06 school year beginning in August for multiple grades. School administrator and principal also needed.

CONGO

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Community Partners Association (COPA) - LaHoya and Bombita, DR

1. Education Adviser for a 2 year contract starting August 2005. A local stipend provided.

2. Nurse Advisor - work in 2 rural clinics with local staff. Assist and manage medical help funds. Health Education in schools. Provide assistance in clinic when necessary.

GUATEMALA

Seeking nurses to accompany a surgery team November 9-18 or 20, 2007. Needed to help in pre-operation and post operation recovery as well as possibly help with overnight patients. (Posted May, 2007)

Project Salud y Paz - assist administrator with oversight ofpersonnel, volunteer teams, clinic operations, community healtheducation, and control of medical suppies.

KENYA

Alice's Clinic in Kopanga region near Migori - Physician - family or general practitioner to assist and provide instruction to resident nurse.

KOREA

The Wesley Mission School in Korea needs two English teachers for Korean children, Roundtrip airfare, furnished apartment, and a small stipend are provided.

MEXICO

Agua Prieta Sonora - need a person with medical background to assist in the operation and organization of a free medical clinic and community center

ST VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES

Pastoral work - person will have pastoral responsibility for four congregations and will work in a circuit with other ministers. Begin immediately - min. 6 month commitment - housing and stipend provided.

TANZANIA

Methodist Angel House Orphanage, Tarime (near Lake Victoria)

1. House parents - assist with care of 34 children ages 6-16.

2. Project/Orphanage Administrator - administer daily operations of orphanage instructing local staff. To include: finance, purchasing, communications

3. Outreach and Evangelism - Pastor to assist in training and ministry

THAILAND

Ban Nongpuentag School, Aphur Gangkrajan, Petchburi Province - teach English in a primary and secondary school. Graduate degree preferred but not required. Very rural setting.

TONGA

Village Mission Clinic - Primary care physician to work in two rural clinics on a rotation with two other physicians. Housing and small stipend provided.

USA (Arkansas)

Philander Smith College, Little Rock, AR - Professor to teach Early Childhood Education courses. Masters degree in Education required. Housing and Meals provided. Needed immediately for Fall 2005 semester.

USA (Colorado)

Alamosa, CO - VIDA Volunteers - Placement in various local non-profits to assist with their mission to provide services to the community. Housing and some meals provided. Possible small monthly stipend. Year commitment.

USA (Louisiana)

UMCOR Sager Brown (Baldwin, LA) - Long-term volunteer with some construction knowledge needed to plan local housing rehabilitation projects, participate in local outreach programs, and coordinate work for volunteer teams that come throughout the year.
